Privacy Policy
We collect as little data as possible, and we do not sell it. Ever.
Nora Knows was built to help people make better buying decisions — not to track them around the internet. We care about privacy because we’re users too, and we don’t believe trust should come with fine print.
This page explains, in plain language, what information we collect, why we collect it, and what we deliberately avoid collecting.

What We Collect
We only collect information that’s necessary for Nora to function and improve.
- Email address — only if you choose to subscribe, create an account, or contact us.
- Basic usage data — page views and interactions, used to understand how the site is performing.
- Affiliate tracking — Amazon may track purchases made through our links so we can earn a commission. We do not see your personal purchase data.
Nora Knows Browser Extension
The Nora Knows browser extension runs on Amazon.com and Nora’s own account-connection pages. It reads only the Amazon product and search information needed to provide the feature you requested.
The extension may process:
- Amazon product identifiers such as ASINs
- The visible price, seller, condition, Prime status, and variation
- Visible coupon and Subscribe & Save information
- The Amazon page address needed to identify the current product page
When you press Ask Nora, Nora sends the selected product and visible offer context to our servers so we can compare it with Nora’s independently verified price history. When you save an item, the extension sends the ASIN and the list destination you chose. Amazon search-result badges send ASINs only and use Nora’s existing cached data.
Nora may retain an observed Amazon offer for up to 30 days for price verification, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting. These observations are stored separately from Nora’s canonical price history and cannot become alert prices, savings records, or historical price points.
The extension stores a dedicated, revocable Nora sign-in token in Chrome so you can stay connected. The token expires and can be revoked by disconnecting the extension.
The extension does not read your Amazon checkout, orders, payment information, passwords, messages, or activity on unrelated websites.
How We Use Information
Any information we collect is used for one of the following reasons:
- To provide features you explicitly asked for
- To send updates or alerts you signed up for
- To improve accuracy, performance, and reliability
- To prevent abuse and troubleshoot problems
- To respond if you contact us directly
We do not use your data for advertising profiles, retargeting, or behavior tracking across the web.
What We Don’t Do
- We don’t sell your data
- We don’t rent your data
- We don’t create shadow profiles
- We don’t track you across unrelated sites
If a feature would require invasive tracking to work, we simply don’t build it.
Contact
